Singer-actress Miley Cyrus revealed that she was no longer doing marijuana, a drug that she has previously called “the best drug on earth.”

In an interview with Billboard this May, the former “Hannah Montana” star said she had been off of it for three weeks, the longest drug-free spell she’s had. She also stopped drinking, saying she’s now “completely clean.”

It seems to be a long-term commitment to a new chapter of her life: “I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open. And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be.”

The effect has been positive to the 24-year-old, who claimed on an interview with SiriusXM that “I’ve got a lot of energy… Look at my eyes, look at how white they are. They’re clear and open and I can see and all that.”

She said she found quitting easy, but only because she did it on her own terms: “If anyone told me not to smoke, I would have not done it. It’s because it was on my time.”

Going sober isn’t just a change in public image for Cyrus who has been unafraid to go nude and sticks her tongue out as a way of rebelling against “disgusting photographers.” The youth activist said her new record is meant to be political, and she intends to “create real change” by turning “emotion into action.”

Her latest single “Malibu” goes back to her country-folk roots. She admitted the song is about her relationship with fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Niña V. Guno/JB
