Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt to reprise roles in ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ sequel

Back in 2014, audiences were amazed by “Edge of Tomorrow”, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, and directed by Doug Liman. Since then, fans of the movie have been waiting for a sequel.
According to an interview between Collider and director Doug Liman, the sequel for “Edge of Tomorrow” is happening, with both Cruise and Blunt onboard.
Liman has also announced the title of the upcoming sequel. It will be called “Live Die Repeat and Repeat”. The new title was inspired by the title used on the Blu-ray release of the first movie which was “Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow”.
The sequel, according to Liman, will be a sequel that’s actually a prequel. “I had these intellectual ideas on how you should make a sequel that are unlike how anybody else makes a sequel, and this script and this idea fit perfectly into that idea,” said Liman.
While it appears that the movie is finally moving forward, the main people involved are still preoccupied with other projects, so it may take time before actual shooting starts.
Liman said in the interview, “Tom [Cruise] is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it. The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when.”
There you have it, “Live Die Repeat and Repeat” is a go. If Tom Cruise’s character learned patience and perseverance while dying countless times on the same day in the first film, fans can surely wait a little bit longer for the sequel. Alfred Bayle/JB
