Kris Bernal flares her summer body as the newest cover girl of FHM Philippines.

The “Starstruck” alumna departed from her “sweet girl” image for a daring woman on the May 2016 cover of the men’s magazine. In a caption on her Instagram post, Bernal said she felt “liberated” when she first bared her body on social media.

“I’ve come of age to choose to do what would feel light and free[ing] for me rather than what is expected of me,” she challenged her bashers. “I am unfolding myself – plan my own path, listen to the depths of my heart, create my own rules, and do most things on my terms.”

Bernal, 27, hopes that her newest magazine gig would will open the door to more adult roles, such as her current GMA soap “Impostora.”

“I am all set and ready to leave the cocoon! And I’m not going to mold myself for you, for how you want me to look and be like,” she said in her post.

While vacationing in Malaysia, Bernal dealt with a troop of haters pinning her down for her lanky figure. But this did not prevent Bernal from using the photo-sharing app as an avenue to spread body-positive messages.

“If you don’t like what you’re seeing, just unfollow. I am perfectly fine. I am perfectly healthy. Stop leaving nasty comments,” she asserted in a previous Instagram post. “Embrace your imperfections. Own it. Live with it.”  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
