Daniel supports Kathryn as Darna (but thinks role’s sexiness is ‘awkward’)

Daniel Padilla will be all out in supporting his on-screen partner, Kathryn Bernardo, should she be the lucky one to be chosen to play “Darna”.
In the quest for the next woman to be the ultimate Filipina heroine, several notable names have been brought up, and one which ignites a strong buzz is Bernardo’s. Padilla is not holding back at all in wishing Bernardo well about it.
“Oo naman, kung gusto siya ng tao ng management, kung siya ang nararapat, bakit hindi, di’ba?” Padilla said during the media launch today of their upcoming movie “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.
(Of course, if the people behind the management want her, and if she’s right [for the role], why not, right?)
Since “Darna” demands a jaw-dropping physique, not to mention the need to wear a revealing costume, does he worry about her shaking off her wholesome image, and finally embracing a sexier new self?
“Oo nga eh, ‘no? ‘Di ko naisip yun, ah. Pero ihuhulma naman nila ‘yun para kay Kathryn s’yempre, ‘pag masyadong [sexy] ano eh, awkward na ‘yun,” he said.
(Oh yeah, right. I didn’t think about that. But they will [surely] mold [the role] for Kathryn, of course. If it’s too sexy, then that would be awkward.)
Meanwhile, Bernardo thanks fans who choose her to be Darna, and indeed, being considered for the role is something she sees as a privilege. But as there still is no official announcement on who will play the role, she focuses on her projects at hand.
“Can’t Help Falling In Love” is the much-awaited summer romantic movie of KathNiel, regarded by fans as the premier Kapamilya love team. Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, the movie will open on April 15 in cinemas nationwide. JB
