Viva Entertainment said that “no Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) sponsorship” of its stars James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s coming concert tour in the United States “will proceed,” because “at best,” all the company had gotten was “a proposal” from the agency.

“Until all the approvals are obtained from the proper channels, any supposed sponsorship of the James Reid-Nadine Lustre tour is not binding on Viva,” vice president for sales and production Jay Montelibano said in a statement issued in response to recent news reports that the TPB—through its chief operating officer, actor Cesar Montano—had provided P12 million in sponsorship money for the said tour, despite the negative recommendation of Tourism Promotions Board’s marketing and communications department.

“Further, Viva has not received any [special] consideration from TPB for the supposed sponsorship,” Montelibano added. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
