Celebs, netizens awed as Barbie Forteza bares body for TV series

Netizens and celebrities heaped praises on Barbie Forteza after seeing on Instagram photos of her in a two-piece swimsuit for a scene on GMA 7’s rom-com “Meant to Be.”

In the photos, posted on Wednesday, she flaunts her flawless body in a silver bikini. Together with her co-stars, they filmed a scene for the primetime soap at a beach in Laiya, Batangas.

Many of Forteza’s fellow stars and friends in show biz posted good-hearted comments. Actresses Lovi Poe, Valeen Montenegro, Kris Bernal, Bela Padilla, Sanya Lopez, Matet de Leon and Bea Binene praised her for keeping up in shape for her scene.

Ruru Madrid, co-star Ken Chan, singer Mark Bautista and director Gina Alajar also turned to the photo-sharing app to congratulate Forteza.

Jerald Napoles and Joyce Ching reposted Forteza’s photo on their pages. “Teka lang, iba ‘to (Wait a minute, this is different), I’m so proud!” Ching tweeted. Netizens and Forteza’s fans’ clubs took notice of their idol’s summer figure and praised her, too.

Forteza, 19, plays the role of Billie Bendiola, a young lady who is torn between her Filipino and foreign suitors played by actors Ivan Dorschner, Ken Chan, Jak Roberto and Addy Raj.

In an interview in the GMA 7 news program “24 Oras,” Forteza said she had prepared for her daring beach scene, a first mature move in her blossoming career as a teen star.

She said, “Once na nabasa ko ang script na may ganitong eksena, nag-cut agad ako ng carbs. Wala agad carbs, maliit na chicken for protein lang at egg whites, tapos saging na saba. (Once I read the script with this kind of scene, I cut down on carbohydrates. No carbohydrates, just a small piece of chicken for protein and egg whites, and then one saba banana).”  Gianna Francesca Catolico
