South Korea is a country where plastic surgery clinics are like dental clinics – they are everywhere. There are big and small clinics all around the city. Female high school students even ask for plastic surgery as graduation gifts.
Despite being a country where getting plastic surgery is as easy as getting your teeth cleaned, not everyone approves of it. Take for example the case of one young woman’s mother.

The mother took to Hello Counselor, a Korean talk show where people, regardless of age or gender, share their problems, with hosts and guests commenting and giving feedback. The mother expressed her concern toward her daughter’s obsession with plastic surgery.
Her daughter’s plastic surgery addiction began at the age of 14, when she asked for double eyelid surgery. Afterwards, she asked for a nose job with which her mother strongly disagreed. But she still got the surgery despite her mother’s disapproval. How? She works in a fast food chain and walks home instead of taking the bus to be able to save up for her operations.

When asked which celebrity she was aiming to look like, since it seemed like she won’t be stopping from getting plastic surgeries anytime soon, this was her answer: Kylie Jenner.
“I have much pride. There’s none in Asia… There’s a foreigner named Kylie Jenner,” she said, “She has a hot figure and she looks exotic.”
