Cute hunk’s powerful backers ease out rivals

/ 12:45 AM January 11, 2017

Cute Hunk has found himself some pretty powerful supporters.

Although a relative newcomer, CH is swiftly making headway in the biz. It turns out Influential Backer is stacking the cards in CH’s favor.

CH was up for a meaty role in High-Profile Project with a slew of starry-eyed rivals, including Hunky Wannabe.

Well, it was like taking candy away from kids.

FEATURED STORIES

HW is an eager beaver, but sadly lacks the charm and talent to make it big in the biz.

CH is no Olivier, either. But then again, CH has IB as secret weapon.

HW didn’t know what hit him.

 Crossfire

Instead of helping end the word war between Feisty Star and Troubled Nemesis, Pushy Insider is adding fuel to the fire.

PI is passing on to FS all sorts of sordid rumors allegedly being spread by TN. Of course, FS is hurt by the allegations.

FS, however, failed to take into consideration the long-festering enmity between TN and PI.

TN and PI are relentless in their bid to destroy each other. FS was unwittingly caught in the crossfire of a raging battle royale.

Comeback kid

Controversial Personality disappeared from the scene for a while. CP purportedly went into hiding because of several disastrous deals.

Now, CP is back with a vengeance.

Thing is, CP is knocking on the door of Former Ward who has hit the jackpot recently.

FW’s handlers are understandably worried.

They are scared that CP would take advantage of naïve FW.

After all, CP’s track record has raised not a few red flags—particularly, when it comes to financial matters.

Dangerous liaisons

Aggressive Insider should take a crash course on objectivity—pronto.

AI was tasked to handle a tricky issue at work.

AI’s first official move was an epic fail, though. AI was obviously tolerating Beleaguered Celebrity. Is it because of AI’s previous entanglements with BC? Someone please remind AI that impartiality is a job requirement, especially in handling potentially combustible controversies.

Front-act queen

From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:

Stunning Starlet is upset with Dashing Colleague.

SS suspects that DC is only using her to bolster his macho image that is often “doubted” by intrigue-mongers.

SS had already expressed interest in DC, who still refused to make the first move.

But in front of the cameras, DC gabs as if he and SS were already a couple.

Can you blame SS for feeling like a “Front-Act Queen?”

Emphasis on Queen.

Coco Martin on why he’s a Black Nazarene devotee: “Sabi ko dati… ‘Lord, bigyan niyo ako ng trabaho.’ Tapos mula noong hawakan ko ang Nazareno, hanggang ngayon, hindi na ako huminto sa pagtatrabaho.” (The secret of his success.)

Coco on his love life: “Hindi ’yun ang priority ko.” (But the heart waits for no one.)

Lea Salonga on her hectic schedule the next couple of months: “I’m happiest when I’m performing. It helps me stay sane.” (Crazy biz keeps her from going bonkers. Isn’t it ironic, donchathink?)

Lea on the unlikelihood of her reunion movie with Aga Muhlach pushing through this year: “I’m solidly booked until August … Hopia pa  more! I’m so sorry. May Sharon-Gabby naman, eh!” (And the consolation prize goes to…)

Piolo Pascual on turning 40: “I embrace it. I’m excited about where I am today.” (Life begins at 40 nga ba, Papa P?)

Sen. Tito Sotto on critics saying that his suggestion to create separate festivals for mainstream and indie films was self-serving: “Walang kinalaman [’yung hindi pagkapasok ng pelikula ni Vic Sotto], unless gusto nila ’yan bigyan ng maduming kaisipan.” (Inquiring minds would want to know lang po…)

(Moving on to other issues of national importance…)

Alden Richards (left) and Maine Mendoza
