Carla Abellana wins best foreign actress in Vietnamese poll
Carla Abellana seized the hearts of not only her Filipino but also Vietnamese fans.
With 114,806 votes, the Kapuso actress won Best Foreign Actress in “Face of the Year 2016,” a poll organized by International Media Corp. (IMC), one of the top media groups in Vietnam. She was recognized for her groundbreaking performance in the 2014 GMA soap opera “My Destiny,” which also stars her beau Tom Rodriguez, Sid Lucero and Rhian Ramos. Trailing her was Indian star Jennifer Winget.
The Filipino actress will travel to Ho Chi Minh to claim her trophy.
Aside from Abellana, Rodriguez was nominated for Best Foreign Actor. Other stars nominated for the awards were Coco Martin and Kim Chiu, who played as lovers in the 2014 ABS-CBN series “Ikaw Lamang.”
Winners of the “Face of the Year” were determined based on text votes from Vietnamese viewers.
The “Face of the Year” awards will be held on Jan. 6 at the Saigon Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City. Gianna Francesca Catolico
