The three ladies who spiced up the ’90s pop scene with their hits “Wannabe,” “2 Become 1” and “Stop” returns with a leaked single.

Shortly after “Spice Girls” members Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell and Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton gave in to fans’ wishes for a reunion, an audio track of their newest single under the group’s spin-off name GEM has leaked online.

YouTube user Millie Spice uploaded the track on Tuesday, arousing speculation that this may be their debut single as a unified power trio. “Song for Her” narrates a quest to find a woman whom they used to know after living a different life.

“Where is that girl, is she long gone missing? / Can’t bring her back, but it’s just reminiscing / There in the mirror, she’s shouting ‘I’ve been here forever,'” they sing.

Out of the original five members, only Bunton, Halliwell, and Brown mustered forces to form GEM. The two other members, Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm and Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham, opted not to join them.

In an essay published on U.K.’s Love Magazine, Chisholm reiterated that she would not reunite and perform with her other band mates. “Look, I will be a Spice Girl until I die. But the continuous speculation on whether we will reform to celebrate 20 years of Wannabe has been particularly exhausting,” she penned.

“Truth be told, earlier this year after several face-to-face meetings with the girls I made the difficult decision not to be part of a proposed reunion with Emma, Geri and Melanie. Victoria had already bowed out understandably with the demands of her fashion label and her rather large family.”  Gianna Francesca Catolico
