Kanye West hospitalized in LA after calling off tour—report

American rapper Kanye West was admitted to a hospital in California due to “sleep deprivation and exhaustion,” several sources revealed to NBC.
Los Angeles police responded to a welfare call around 1:20 p.m., California time, and at first, West refused to be taken to the hospital but eventually agreed. He had suffered from exhaustion and lack of sleep resulting from his fashion-related work, including coming up with a design for a shoe brand, TMZ also confirmed.
His wife, Kim Kardashian-West, skipped her flight bound for New York City to rush to her husband’s side. She was about to appear at the Angel Gala in memory of her late father, Robert Kardashian.

Prior to the incident, the rapper faced severe backlash after he blurted out his support for President-elect Donald Trump in his concert in San Jose, thus attracting a swarm of boos from the crowd. In a gig at Sacramento on Monday, he publicly scored Hollywood power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z, claiming that Beyonce’s song “Formation” won Video of the Year at the 2016 Video Music Awards after she had made an “ultimatum” to MTV. West, 39, hastily revoked his concert on that day, antagonizing his fans even more.
