Ex-Urbandub singer Gabby Alipe debuts solo single

/ 01:23 AM September 27, 2016

Urbandub’s decision to leave the local music scene last year left a trail of broken hearts along the way, but luckily the band’s former frontman, Gabby Alipe, has decided to dust up the old guitar and make a comeback of his own.

The Cebuano rock star launched his solo career with a new single, “Visions,” as part of his first stand-alone album, A New Strain, set to be released next month.

I woke up excited and grateful to all the tags that people are showing me that they’ve either downloaded (legally! Hehe! 😝) or already listened to the new single #Visions. Grateful to @_jam883 and @rx931 for putting the song on their rotation. The single is now available for download on iTunes, Spotify, Spinnr, Deezer and Apple Music! I’m blessed to have this new opportunity to write music and connect with people! 🇵🇭 #visions #single #anewstrain #EP #music #musician #artist #supportlocal #wedothisforourculture #teamNMG #NMG #grateful #blessed | 📷 @super_roxy

The 36-year-old vocalist showcased his latest track during a gig last Saturday, Sept. 24, at 19 East bar in Muntinlupa City.

My first gig as a solo artist in the bag. Grateful for the opportunity to perform again with a band and with bandmates that helped me through the many months of uncertainty. Much love to @joeydizon23 @otepdrums @karelhonasan for sharing their time and talent with me on that stage! They killed it and I’m grateful for the response everyone in that packed @19eastbar audience showed despite playing a set of entirely new songs! The crowd was amazing and the entire @udubpresents event kicked ass! Still on a high! #music #musician #artist #supportlocal #wedothisforourculture #teamNMG #NMG #grateful #blessed | 📷 @super_roxy

Alipe is currently working on a music video for the song.  Khristian Ibarrola
