After having starred opposite Kapamilya heartthrob John Lloyd Cruz in the movie “Just the Three of Us,” GMA 7 star Jennylyn Mercado revealed she has still another dream leading man on her bucket list.

Given the opportunity, Jennylyn said she’d love to work in the future with Piolo Pascual—another heartthrob from her home network’s rival.

“I’ll probably get starstruck and just stare at him (Piolo), much like how I was when I did a movie with John Lloyd,” the 29-year-old actress said.

For now, a movie with Piolo is not in the offing.

Instead, Jennylyn was supposed to shoot a potential entry for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival with Coco Martin under Star Cinema—ABS-CBN’s movie outfit—which didn’t materialize due to scheduling conflicts.

“Of course I want to prioritize GMA 7, since I’ve just renewed my contract with the network,” she told entertainment reporters at a media gathering for the new celebrity singing contest, “Superstar Duets” (that premiered last Saturday).

She said she had to undergo workshops for her hosting stint in “Superstar Duets.” “It’s not my forte—I’m scared of it!” she admitted. “But thankfully, we have a great staff who helped me through it.”

In the show, which mixes singing and comedy, eight contestants—Pekto Nacua, Joross Gamboa, Jerald Napoles, Rita Daniela, Denise Barbacena, Nar Cabico, Divine Grace and Osang—will each be paired with surprise acts. The competition will be judged by Christian Bautista, Allan K and Aicelle Santos.

Meanwhile, Jennylyn appeared unperturbed after being bashed by netizens following rumors that she would be paired with Alden Richards for the local adaptation of the Korean series, “My Love from the Star.”

“Dedma. I don’t read tweets if I can help it,” related the celeb, who thinks it would be best if Alden stays paired with Maine Mendoza. “They’re doing well; it would be great if they stick together for now,” she said.
