Premiering on the FYI channel (Sky 79) next month (8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1) is the reality show, “Teenage Newlyweds,” about four young couples as they begin their married lives together. See and learn with them as they take on the ups and downs of their careers, education, family, family planning and other key concerns.

Also on FYI at 9 p.m., Thursdays, is “Fit to Fat to Fit,” about trainers who intentionally gain a lot of weight, then lose it to motivate and inspire their fat clients to do the same!

Mowelfund filmmaking workshop graduation

The Mowelfund Film Institute, in cooperation with the NCCA, FDCP and FAP, held its prestigious filmmaking workshop’s graduation yesterday, Aug. 26, at Mowelfund Plaza, with Mowelfund founder and chair Joseph Estrada as guest speaker.

The graduates’ short film projects were screened, and Aiza Seguerra was inducted as the newest member of the Board of Mowelfund. Other board members are Marichu Perez Maceda, Fr. Larry Faraon, Rez Cortez, Edgardo Vinarao, Jaime Baltazar and Boots Anson-Roa.

New on Lifetime

At 5 p.m. on Sept. 5, the latest season of Ellen DeGeneres’ popular talk-variety show starts telecasting. On Sept. 19 at 9:30 p.m., the fourth season of “Married At First Sight” unreels, with a new batch of strangers getting hitched—and doing their best to stay married for six weeks!

Other should-see shows: “Hoarders” starting on Sept. 30 at 9 p.m., “The Block” every Monday at 9:30 p.m., and “MasterChef Australia” every Monday at 8 p.m.

Bacchus at Rampage

Thousands of Filipino gamers and cosplayers recently took part in an intense online gaming convention as Bacchus, the top energy drink in Korea, together with Garena, hosted the Rampage LoL 2016 tournament at the World Trade Center.

Korean brand ambassadors eagerly shared samples of the new Bacchus Energy Drink Carbonated canned variant. Dong-A Korea VP Lee Dong flew in to grace the event with Dong-A Philippines officials, led by Amen Say.

Aside from e-sports, Bacchus supports other activities for the youth that require extra energy and a mental boost.

‘Lights Out’

The acclaimed horror film, “Lights Out,” has surpassed the $100-million mark globally, making it a certified hit. The film about an unknown terror that lurks in the dark is megged by David Sandberg and topbills Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman and Billy Burke.

‘Pete’s Dragon’

Opening in Manila on Sept. 7, “Pete’s Dragon” stars Robert Redford as an elderly wood carver whose family meets a mysterious boy who claims to live in the forest—with a giant dragon named Elliot!
