To mark the 15th death anniversary of singer-actress Aaliyah, Beyoncé posted a special tribute to the deceased star on social media.

The “Lemonade” singer posted a throwback clip of her hosting stint at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet. During that time, Beyoncé was an 18-year-old member of the “Destiny’s Child,” an all-girl group she joined with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Aaliyah, 21, was then one of the hottest sensations in the entertainment industry.

“What’s up baby, it’s so good to see you again,” the princess of R&B greeted Beyoncé in the video. Also, the two ladies chatted about seeing Grammy-winning singer D’Angelo during the event.

Aaliyah died in a plane crash on Aug. 25, 2001, in the Bahamas after filming her last music video, “Rock the Boat.” Even after 15 years, Hollywood still mourns her tragic death.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
