Fans of C.S. Lewis’ whimsical and enchanting series “The Chronicles of Narnia” have a reason to rejoice with its comeback on the big screen via the sequel “The Silver Chair.”

The magical tale started when Prince Rilian, King Caspian’s son and heir to the throne, went missing. Aslan the Lion assigned Eustace Scrubb, who appeared in “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” and Jill Pope, his English classmate, to locate the missing prince in Narnia.

Sony-owned production studio TriStar Pictures will tie up with The Mark Gordon Company, The CS Lewis Company, and Entertainment One to produce the Narnia movie, Deadline reported.

David Magee, screenwriter of “Finding Neverland” and “Life of Pi,” will pen the movie’s script, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Mark Gordon will be the project’s producer.

“Developing this project with The C.S. Lewis Company has been immensely exciting and a real joy,” Gordon said in a statement on Tuesday. “We are so pleased to team up with our good friends at TriStar and our partners at eOne to introduce this new, magical chapter of the Narnia franchise to fans around the world, both old and new.”

Three Narnia novels were previously adapted into box-office films–“The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,” which was released in 2005, “Prince Caspian” in 2008 and “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” in 2010. Overall, the three Narnia franchises grossed $1.58 billion (P73 billion) worldwide.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
