DOLPHY. Had a serious side.

DOLPHY. Had a serious side.

Dolphy, the country’s king of comedy, made people laugh, yet he also had a serious side. These quotes manifest his humility, kindness and spirituality:

You don’t need to hurt other people’s feelings in order to elicit laughter.

To those who followed my career and those I brought laughter to; to those I have hurt, please forgive me.  And to the people who have offended me, I also forgive you.

Even if it is said that I have favorites among my children, I love them all equally.

Some say that a comedian is also good in drama. Why?  I have experienced it all—hunger, children with vices, falling in love and separation from loved ones. Going through all that enables me to relate to the different roles I play.

I have no regrets. My career may not have made me a multimillionaire, but I consider myself rich because I have many friends.

I do not fear death because it’s inevitable—it will happen to everybody, sooner or later.

If the Lord asks me what favor I want, I’d ask for peace—for the whole world.

Face to face with God, what would I tell Him? —“Accept me, dearest Lord!”
