Shannen Doherty: Cancer has spread to my lymph nodes

American actress Shannen Doherty’s ongoing bout with breast cancer has taken a turn for the worse, as she disclosed on Monday (Tuesday in Manila) that her disease had reached her lymph nodes.
The 45-year-old confirmed the sad news in a sit-down interview with Entertainment Tonight, adding that some of the cancer cells might have spread further into other parts of her body.
“I had breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we discovered that some of the cancer cells might have actually gone out of the lymph nodes,” a teary-eyed Doherty shared. “So for that reason, we are doing chemo, and then after chemo, I’ll do radiation.”
The former “Beverly Hills 90210” star, who had a single mastectomy in May, admitted she is worried about the future because so much is “unknown.”
“The unknown is always the scariest part. Is the chemo going to work? Is the radiation going to work? You know, am I going to have to go through this again, or am I going to get secondary cancer?” she said.
Doherty also opened up the level of discomfort she felt after finding out her diagnosis in February.
“Everything else is manageable. Pain is manageable, you know living without a breast is manageable, it’s the worry of your future and how your future is going to affect the people that you love,” she said.
She also recently shaved her trademark long, dark hair as her chemotherapy treatment was causing it to fall, which was reportedly ”driving her crazy.” Khristian Ibarrola
