Two Filipino  films were in the lineup of the recently concluded Kota Kinabalu International Film Festival in Sabah, Malaysia. Kanakan Balintagos’ “Busong” and Chuck Gutierrez’s “Iisa” were among the 10 films (five feature films and five shorts) showcased in the fest.

The fest’s website describes “Iisa” as a film about “a never-ending war, a town ravaged by a devastating storm and the woman caught [in the crossfire].”

“Busong,” on the other hand, turns the spotlight on pristine Palawan, whose “forests, seas and mountains are on the verge of environmental destruction and exploitation.”
