Six foreign acts, young and established, will comprise the curious lineup of “In the Mix”—a coming concert that will focus on the modern rock genre. The one-night event, mounted by MMI Live and Ovation Productions, will be held on Aug. 18 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena (call 4702222).

The gig’s biggest draw is inarguably The 1975, the alternative rock group from the United Kingdom which is behind the hit songs “Girls” and “Chocolate.” It will be the band’s second time in Manila.

For a heady dose of punk rock and grunge, there is the trio Twin Pines, also from the UK. Fans of blues and soul, on the other hand, may want to check out the British singer-songwriter James Bay and the American singer-actress Elle King.

Those in their late 20s and early 30s, meanwhile, can relive the music of their younger years, as the American 1990s rock band of “Semi-Charmed Life” fame, Third Eye Blind, and the American pop, electro-punk group Panic! at the Disco will likewise join the roster. Allan Policarpio
