Nadine: James has shown me what true love is

Certified “Otwolistas” (“On the Wings of Love” fanatics) will definitely rejoice when the movie of their idols, James Reid and Nadine Lustre, “This Time” (Viva Films) hits cinemas on May 4. It’s a celebration of summer romance and all the giddiness that comes with it. Amid the election frenzy, the feel-good movie serves as a much-needed breather. The JaDine tandem reminds us that we must let love complete and not complicate our life.
Here’s my tête-à-tête with Nadine:
How has James redefined love for you?
He is showing me what real love is—[that is, by] loving me wholeheartedly and by being trustworthy.
What stage is your relationship with James in?
We used to call each other partners in crime when we were just best friends. Now that we are officially together, our friendship and love have deepened.
How do you and James handle misunderstandings?
We are both honest and transparent, so we just talk things over. We are also both open-minded, so we listen to each other. So far, we have not had any major misunderstanding.
Would you rather stay in a love team or go solo as an actress?
It’s fun to be in a love team, but eventually I also want to try to make it as a solo actress.
Aside from being in a love team, James and I both have solo careers as recording artists.

Other celebs can learn a thing or two from Janice de Belen. In one of our talks, she told me that when she’s no longer in front of the camera, she likes to experience “normal” life.
“I have no qualms about going to Divisoria and the market. I refuse to feel like a celebrity who can’t go to certain places,” Janice says. “When my work as an actress is done, I snap out of my show-biz persona and do things ordinary people enjoy doing.
“I like going around without alalays. I don’t understand how some celebs deprive themselves of fully living life just because they are wary of being recognized and getting mobbed. They are missing out [on] a lot.”
I could not agree more. There is more to life than show biz. Celebs must not let the trappings of success turn into a trap.

Pip and Bot
Back in the ’70s, Tirso Cruz III and Edgar Mortiz were staunch rivals because their respective love teams with Nora Aunor (Guy and Pip) and Vilma Santos (Vi and Bot) were pitted against each other. But nowadays, Pip and Bobot are the best of friends.
It was so heartwarming to see their pictures on Facebook with their wives, Lyn and Milette, while renewing their marriage vows in the Holy Land. They went on a pilgrimage with their families.
Lyn said their trip was extra-special because their children TJ, Bodie and Djanin were with them.
Both Pip and Bot have found their love teams for life and even after life.

Since I’m privy to the colorful life of Rufa Mae Quinto, I am truly happy that she has finally found her Mr. Right in Trevor Magallanes. They are engaged already.
After all the love battles that Pchi (Rufa Mae’s nickname) has endured, she deserves to live happily ever after.
All her life, Pchi worked like a horse to provide for her entire clan. It’s time for her to reap her heart’s reward.
