Lee Min-ho perfectly exemplified hallyu, the Korean wave, during his recent visit to the Philippines.

Lee flew to the nation for a promotional event for a global fashion brand Bench. Continuing on his activities as the brand’s model for over five years, he visited Manila and Cebu.

More than 20,000 fans flocked to see Lee, showing his exploding popularity. Lee tried his best to meet fans and even held a photo session with them to thank them. Not just fans but also famous celebrities in the Philippines showed up at the scene to greet him.

According to various media outlets, his popularity even led to the point where many demanded his visit to be considered a public holiday. In an interview, Bench reported that Lee is one of the biggest stars in the Asia market, with a huge influence in various countries throughout the continent.
