Singer-actress Sharon Cuneta, dubbed  the country’s megastar, pays tribute to Inquirer editor in chief Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc, who passed away on Christmas Eve this year. “Tita Letty was always very nice to me. She was such a decent person and certainly one of the most respected in her field. I feel for her family, especially for her daughter Kara (Magsanoc-Alikpala) who has been my friend since 1997 [when she wrote a TV special on my family’s stay in Boston]. Tita Letty will be missed. Journalism has lost a gem and needs to have more people like her. My deepest, heartfelt condolences.” Cuneta also lost her mom, Elaine, last year, a month before the holiday season.
