Aquino thanks Apl.de.ap of Black-Eyed Peas for charity work
MANILA, Philippines—President Aquino personally thanked Monday night Apl.de.ap, the Filipino-American member of the famous band “Black-Eyed Peas,” for the work being done by the latter’s foundation, which has linked up with the foundation named after the Chief Executive’s late parents.
Apl.de.ap, or Allan Pineda, is in town for the band concert to be held Tuesday night.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said Aquino met with Pineda in the residence of presidential cousin Rafael “Rapa” Lopa who had hosted dinner for him.
Lopa is president of the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation, which is in partnership with Pineda’s APL Foundation for the construction of classrooms in the country.
“The President just dropped by to extend his gratitude,” Lacierda said.
