The long wait is almost over.

It has been ten years since the release of the last “Star Wars” film. But before fans of the space epic indulge themselves in the much awaited seventh installment of the hit franchise, they may first immerse in an interactive exhibit that will surely give them the galactic vibe in anticipation of “The Force Awakens.”

SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc. and Disney on Tuesday formally opened the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” galactic Christmas exhibit at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

The exhibit, staged at the mall’s Atrium and Cyberzone areas, features a life-size X-Wing aircraft, a Battlefront PS4 game station, fully articulated “Star Wars” toys and stormtroopers’ helmets, “Choose Your Destiny” photo wall with lightsabers, augmented reality wall, and life-size stormtroopers on display.

It will run until January 3, 2016.

“The Force Awakens,” set 30 years after “The Return of the Jedi,” will be shown in local theaters on Dec. 17. It will remain in IMAX during the Metro Manila Film Festival, but will be screened back to regular SM cinemas on January 8.
