No fear of dying
A good friend related this story about her encounter with an old woman who experienced clinical death: While living in Silang, Cavite, our friend would go around offering enlightening booklets to people. When she asked an old woman if she wanted a free copy, she said, “I’m almost blind. Just tell me what the book is about.”
Our friend asked, “How do you know how much money your customers are giving you?” She replied, “I can tell by feeling the money.”
Our friend continued, “The handouts are about man’s real nature as a spiritual being. Unlike the clothes we wear, we aren’t disposable. Death is simply leaving our physical bodies behind.”
The woman suddenly became serious and said, “Maybe you’ll understand my story: Some time ago, I was rushed to the hospital due to a heart problem. Suddenly, I felt that I was ‘flying’ out of my body! I was transported to a beautiful place with flowers and singing children. I was very happy!
“Then, I heard some people crying and calling my name. I wanted to tell them that they need not worry about me. —Then, I woke up and realized I was in the emergency room once more! I told my son, who’s a doctor, what I had experienced. He said that I was just hallucinating. —But, it was not a dream! Everything was very clear to me.”
Our friend told her: “It was an out-of-the-body experience!” She was so relieved! She continued, “After that, I lost my fear of dying! I saw the importance of my relationship with God.”
Our friend concluded by saying that the woman recently passed away. She had lived long enough to learn a crucial lesson that everybody needs to hear about!
