Kris Aquino narrowly escapes stroke

Actress and presidential sister Kris Aquino said that she narrowly escaped stroke after her blood pressure shot up to 200/110 Monday night.
Kris was rushed to the Medical City after suffering from “severe, vascular headache” Monday afternoon while taping for her reality talk show “Kris TV.”
The actress recalled her ordeal in an Instagram post she published on Tuesday: “I had a severe, vascular headache from 3 PM while taping @kristvofficial_ig, threw up 3X when I got home at 6:30 PM & when my blood pressure was taken it was 150/100. My sisters insisted I go to the ER because my symptoms were alarming. At the ER my BP was 200/110. Just a bit higher could have caused a stroke.”
She thanked her children, sisters, brothers-in-law and President Benigno Aquino III who visited her in the hospital straight from his engagements in Cebu City.
“I need to first say THANK YOU to my sons & siblings (Pinky & Manolo, Viel & Dodo, and PNoy who went straight to the hospital from the airport after his Cebu trip),” she said.
Kris said that the incident taught her to not become a slave to her work and made her realize how much her family loves her.
“I solemnly promise to follow all their instructions, take my medication & I will never again abuse my body because I was a slave to my work. My goal now is to achieve a healthy work & life balance.”
“Last night was a scary wake up call for me & my loved ones, but it also made me realize how much my siblings & sons love & care for me. It really put my priorities in proper perspective,” Kris said.
The actress-host said that she would be “signing off” from social media and her shows until she recuperates. AJH/IDL
