‘Taklub’ goes to Gijón film fest in Spain

Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s “Taklub” will be shown at the 53rd Gijón International Film Festival, in Spain, from Nov. 20 to 28. In past editions, such “revered” filmmakers as Abbas Kiarostami, Tsai Ming-liang, Claire Denis, Aki Kaurismaki graced the festival. Mendoza attended the Gijón fest as its guest of honor last year. “Taklub” premiered in the Un Certain Regard of Cannes where it won the Ecumenical Jury Prize-Special Mention. Bayani San Diego Jr.
