After nesting at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) for several days, award-winning actor Jiro Manio finally decided on Wednesday morning to go home with his relatives.

The former child actor, wearing a fresh set of clothes with a new ‘Good Morning’ towel slung over his shoulder, was fetched at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday by his younger brother, Anjo, and a cousin from the Naia terminal 3.

According to Naia terminal 3 manager Octavio Lina, “He (Manio) is a good kid. He wasn’t violent and he could easily be understood when he spoke.  But there were times that he did not make sense.”

He told the Inquirer that what he observed was that Manio might not exactly be mentally unstable but rather “disoriented.”

“He seemed disoriented because each time I talked to him he changed his stories,” Lina explained.

Lina recalled that when he initially asked Manio why he ended up at the Naia, the actor had told him that he left home because he was going to Great Britain.

“When I asked him where he was going in another instance, he said he did not know anymore,” the terminal manager told the Inquirer, adding that the actor might still need professional help.

Lina said that on Tuesday night the airport police division at terminal 3 took custody of Manio, allowing him to take a bath and sleep in their office after undergoing a medical checkup.

He was treated for some scratches and bruises but is generally healthy, the terminal manager said.

When Manio left the terminal with his relatives the Inquirer learned that the actor refused to go back to his house in Cainta, Rizal.

A relative of the actor, who asked not to be named, said that Manio chose to stay with a friend in Mandaluyong City rather than return to the house where he used to live.

The former child actor left his relatives in Cainta, Rizal on Saturday without saying where he was going and turned up wandering the Naia terminal.

For four days employees at the terminal—janitors and security guards, fed and clothed Manio out of pity with the actor oblivious of why strangers were taking care of him.
