James competes with Nadine
JAMES Reid and Nadine Lustre
This time around, James Reid and Nadine Lustre (of the popular onscreen love tandem JaDine) will be up against each other.
The young stars were recently named as interpreters in this year’s PhilPop songwriting contest. James will sing “Musikaw” by MC Magno; Nadine teams up with Kean Cipriano in “Sa Ibang Mundo” by Mark Villar.
“We usually work together, so it’s nice for a change. We support each other’s entry and we’re happy to be a part of this event,” James told reporters at a press conference.
Healthy rivalry
“It’s healthy competition for us,” added Nadine, who likewise urged her and James’ fans to support the other 10 entries in the finals. “This is for the music industry.”
Meanwhile, the screen couple denied the rumor that they were spotted, being extra chummy, in Cebu.
“We’re still friends,” James insisted.
Asked if they’ve grown closer, Nadine, who described her partner as a “gentleman,” quipped, “Yes, definitely!”
