It seems everyone had just taken the right stuff.

Fans of the 1980s American boy band “New Kids on the Block” got the surprise of their lives when former group mate Mark Wahlberg turned up on stage at their show in Madison Square Garden on Tuesday (Manila time).

In a report on Entertainment Weekly, Wahlberg is shown going up on stage at the NKOTB’s show with his brother, Donnie, an existing member.

He didn’t perform any song but he greeted each member with a brotherly hug before waving to the crowd. It was another guest, rapper 50 Cent, who asked Wahlberg to go up on stage. Screaming fans drowned the hall in that brief moment he was on stage. The group didn’t issue any statement if Wahlberg will perform in upcoming shows of NKOTB.

Before he turned to acting and producing films, Wahlberg was a rapper who used the name Marky Mark. He was with NKOTB for only a year (1984 to 1985) but brother Donnie stayed until the present.

After leaving NKOTB, Marky Mark tried modeling and started his own boy group called the Funky Bunch before the acting bug bit him. As Mark Wahlberg, he starred in blockbuster films like “Three Kings”, “The Departed”, “The Perfect Storm”, “Rock Star”, “Transformers” and “Ted,” among others.

He is back on the big screen for “Ted 2” which is being shown in US theaters this June.

New Kids on the Block are currently on their Main Event Tour.

The group is known for their hits “Step by Step”, “You Got It (The Right Stuff)”, “I’ll Be Loving You”, “Please Don’t Go Girl,” and a lot more way back in the 1990s.
