This show biz season, some relatively fresh stellar finds are making viewers sit up and take special notice of their unique combination of charismatic good looks and performing talent.

Topping our list is Diego Loyzaga, the scion of Teresa Loyzaga and Cesar Montano. He has tried to stand out as a VJ, but his biggest success to date has been on the recently concluded series, “Forevermore.”

The series officially topbilled the love team of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil. Truth to tell, however, as one of Liza’s “spare wheel” screen partners, Diego sometimes made Enrique come off (absolutely unintentionally we’re sure) as a less dynamic and committed performer, in instructive contrast.

FEATURED STORIES

Diego played Jay, a seemingly cool dude—who actually had a lot of issues to deal with and resolve in his private life. Diego did “cool but conflicted” really well!

It also helped that Diego was well-suited to his rocker role, because he’s a good singer aside from actor!

Star in the making

Star Cinema and ABS-CBN should realize that he’s an especially promising star in the making, so his next career moves should be planned with extra smarts and moxie.

Surveying the local starlet scene these days, you have talents like Iñigo Pascual, Ruru Madrid and other frisky, young male comers—but, if you compare them to Diego, they can’t keep up with him.

What’s his key advantage? His dark, sensitive countenance is potentially revelatory of conflicted stories to tell; his physicality makes him much more interesting than the bland, tisoy, boy-next-door types out there—and he has natural acting talent and insights to spare!
