Less than a week after tying the knot, newlyweds Toni Gonzaga-Soriano and Paul Soriano are spending their honeymoon at the exclusive island-resort of Amanpulo in Pamalican Island in Palawan.
The TV host-actress-comedian on Wednesday posted on her Instagram account (@celestinegonzaga) photos of her and Soriano in the white sand beach of Amanpulo, touted to be the most favourite hideaway of international celebrities in the country because of its unparalleled protection of one’s privacy.
Four of five posts by Gonzaga were photos of herself in swimwear, while one photo with a caption “my husband” showed Soriano preparing picnic food in a beach shade.
In a previous interview with reporters during the 46th Box Office Entertainment Awards, Gonzaga said the honeymoon package was a gift to her by Kris Aquino, one of their principal sponsors.
“Actually, ang tagal na nito. Sabi ni Ate Kris, ‘Toni, grabe, you’re gonna get married, so finally you can travel with Paul na kayo lang!’” she said. “Kasi pangarap na pangarap ko na magpunta ng Amanpulo, kaya lang ayaw ng family ko. Hindi kasi sila mga beach person. Kahit anong yaya ko na mag-Amanpulo kami, ayaw nila. Kaya sabi ko, kapag nag-asawa ako, pupunta ako du’n. Kaya iyon ang gift niya.”
(This has long been planned. It’s been a long-time dream for me to go to Amanpulo but my family didn’t like it because they’re not fond of the beach. No matter how many times I asked them to go to Amanpulo, they kept on declining. That’s why I told myself, if I ever get married, I’ll go there. So here is Ate Kris’ gift.)
