Two PH films in New York

Two Filipino movies will be screened in the New York Asian Film Festival, from June 26 to July 11. In the lineup are Khavn de la Cruz’s “Ruined Heart: Another Love Story Between a Criminal and a Whore” and Dodo Dayao’s “Violator.” The fest’s website called “Ruined Heart” “neon-smeared pop poetry…a gangland art flick” and “Violator,” “a barebones indie that achieves a kind of monumental evil majesty as it progresses.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
