New TV shows for old
As the 2015 TV season heats up, new productions are launched practically every week, each of them hoping to become part of the regular viewing fare of many people.
One of the most intriguing shows currently being plugged is “Your Face Sound Familiar,” to be hosted by Billy Crawford. The novelty talent tilt has eight celebrity contestants, who each week will try to sound and look like a well-known musical fave.

If the contestants are really good, this show could become a regular TV treat that viewers will want to keep watching, to see who the really gifted and versatile impersonators are. If they turn out to be less than consistently proficient, however, viewers could end up being acutely disappointed. Still, hope springs!
A new show that’s already being viewed regularly by some is “Solved na Solved” on TV5. Hosted by Gelli de Belen, Arnell Ignacio and lawyer Mel Sta. Maria, the new program makes legal matters and issues interesting and involving.
The program’s best suit is its choice of relevant topics and problems that impinge on many people’s lives.
On ANC’s afternoon program slot, new programs have also started telecasting, with Julius Babao’s Monday show, “Mission Possible,” making an initially good impression by way of its focus on “ordinary” people who are able to surmount daunting odds in their lives.
Finally, on the teleserye front, the new fantasy-comedy series, “Inday Bote,” stars Alex Gonzaga as a poor but feisty girl who scavenges for old newspapers and bottles. One day, she is kind to a mysterious old woman who gives her a big bottle that turns out to contain—pint-sized but powerful elves!
Final confrontations
It’s no secret that local TV drama series are programmed to pile one complication on top of many others—but, when the dust and smoke of the final confrontations finally settle down, an exceedingly happy ending is assured.
So, we know what the ultimate outcome of all teleseryes will be—what’s still up in the air for currently concluding series is how they will set the stage up for their respective finales.
On “Forevermore,” for instance, Xander has already returned and apologized, but Agnes, still exceedingly hurt by his disappearance two years ago, has turned a very cold shoulder on him.
So, are they destined to live separate lives from here on in? Only if the series abruptly changes its title to “Nevermore,” right? It’s going to be just a matter of time before she forgives him and gives their love a second chance.
SOBERANO. Will she give love a second chance?
Before that, however, he will have to deeply and dearly regret what he did to her—and to worry about the fact that she now has two other handsome and more reliable hunks also yearning for her!
But, not to worry, the series has already hinted that Agnes will eventually forgive Xander—because she’s already done the same with her similarly long-missing mother. But for now, Xander will just have to pay his dues—and exquisitely suffer!
On “Bagito,” we thought that the main conflict had already been resolved, because Vanessa had decided to fly abroad with her baby boy—but, hold your horses, at the last possible second, the nasty dad of her son reentered her life—hinting with his surly performance that he would be up to no good!
So, the series’ “good” characters have another seething struggle to contend with before its stormy storyline will finally be concluded!
And, on “Oh, My G,” Sophie is bravely trying to pick up the pieces of her suddenly orphaned life, but it’s turning out that her uncle (played by Dominic Ochoa) is not to be trusted! He’s playing around with her inheritance—and keeping her away from a mysterious woman her late dad urged her to look for!
