Enterprising Upstart pulled a surprise with a successful project. Insecure Colleague got miffed and threw a monkey wrench into EU’s venture. IC found a loophole that effectively slashed EU’s triumph by a few points. The scheme worked.
What was supposed to be a victory became a monumental flop. No amount of drumbeating could reverse the setback and EU’s team ended up in hock. EU should be extra-careful next time, especially when dealing with bloodthirsty wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Unlikely in-law
Flamboyant Celebrity was once Dashing Newbie’s constant companion.
DN’s pushy parents apparently gave their blessing to the unlikely in-law. They favored FC over their son’s girlfriends.
It could be because they knew that FC would lavish gifts on DN. With the girls, DN would more likely end up penniless.
True enough, when DN got married, presents from FC and other gay admirers screeched to a halt. SN has since been working his fingers to the bone.

When Cute Personality is aboard a plane, he can’t help flirting with flight attendants.
He desperately wants to join the mile-high club, that’s why. Not much of a pick-up artist, he comes across as creepy.
Perhaps CP thought being a celebrity would magically make girls fall all over him. He needs a crash course on how to avoid being a jerk.
