/ 12:30 AM February 16, 2015

Danny Zialcita’s 1982 film “T-Bird at Ako,” digitally restored and remastered by ABS-CBN Archives and Central Digital Lab, premieres Feb. 25, 7 p.m., at the UPFI Film Center, UP Diliman. The movie stars Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos in a rare collaboration.

It is a landmark film not only because it showcases Zialcita’s unique filmmaking style, but also because it tackled gay identity issues way ahead of its time.

Leo Katigbak, head of ABS-CBN Special Projects and Film Restoration told the Inquirer, “It is uncommon for big stars to act in a film that touches on gay themes. Also, it is one of Zialcita’s more memorable films with intact material.”

“T-Bird” is the archives’ 77th restoration in four years. The screening is open to the public. Call 9262722 or 9263640. Bayani San Diego Jr.
