Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz has landed on four more foreign critics’ yearend lists.

In the poll conducted by Indiewire among various critics, Diaz’s “Norte Hangganan ng Kasaysayan” landed the 31st slot on the 50 best films list; Diaz was No. 28 (best director); Sid Lucero, No. 32 (best actor); Angeli Bayani, No. 33 (best actress); and cinematographer Larry Manda, No. 25 (best cinematographer).

In the same poll, Diaz’s “Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon” placed No. 4 on the best undistributed films list.

Critic Eric Hatch, programming director of the Maryland Film Festival, picked “Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon” as one of the Top 10 films of 2014. The blog Desistfilm.com named “Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon” one of the year’s 10 best films.

The United Kingdom-based website The Moviejerk has rated “Norte” No. 7 among the 30 best films, which include Oscar favorites “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Boyhood” and “Gone Girl.”

Moviejerk critic Janz Anton-Iago described “Norte” as “long and arduous, but enlightening and ultimately rewarding… [an] enthralling odyssey with startling honesty and an almost brutal awareness.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
