ELMO Magalona says he shares many things with Janine Gutierrez and yet they see just as many things differently.
Lovebirds Janine Gutierrez and Elmo Magalona make quite a refreshing pair. They don’t try hard to be cute. They are a delight to watch in GMA 7’s light-hearted drama, “More Than Words” (weeknights after “24 Oras”).
Janine portrays Ikay, a campus outcast who finds solace in writing fiction online. Elmo plays Hiro, who’s exactly like the boy Ikay describes in her blog.

What will “More Than Words” teach young people?
That there is someone who will love you for who you are, for the things that make you unique.
What’s the status of your romance with Elmo ?
We’ve been through quite a lot, but we still have many things to experience, which is exciting.
How has he made you a better person?
He has taught me that if I want something, I shouldn’t make excuses.
What’s the sweetest thing that Elmo has done for you?
What stands out is when he admitted that we’re together. It was unexpected. It made me realize that what’s important is what makes us happy and not what others think.
How do you resolve fights?
We talk and make sure we both know where we’re coming from.
What’s the best advice your mom (Lotlot de Leon) has given you?
For me to love my work.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Bacon! One Direction. Corny jokes.
What do you find hard to understand about guys?
What they’re thinking.
What are your beauty rituals?
I just wash my face.
