Celebs weigh in on sex video scandals

/ 12:12 AM August 05, 2014

As one of my fave quotes goes:  “Work like you don’t need money. Love like you’ve never been hurt before. Dance like nobody’s watching. And live like it’s heaven on earth.”

If I may add to this quotable quote: “Have sex like everybody’s watching.” That could well be the mantra of several celebrities who got embroiled in sex video scandals recently.

What celebs (or anybody, for that matter) do in their bedrooms is entirely their business. But there is always a price to pay for the choices we make. When celebs record their sex acts, there’s always the risk of the video being leaked online.

FEATURED STORIES

Perhaps the thought of being caught makes sex videos all the more exciting. Ahh! The thrill of making love dangerously!

Since Pinoys are chismoso (love gossip) by nature, spreading celebs’ sex videos seems as casual as making pasa-load.

It’s the lure of forbidden pleasures. Blame it on human nature. How enticing it is to be a voyeur!

YASMIEN Kurdi says no one is safe with current technology.

So beware! Practice safe sex and safe sex-video taping! No glove, no love… No cam, no scam!

Here are some celebs’ comments on the raging issue:

What’s the point of taking a video? It will only haunt you in the future. Imagine the effect on your family and friends. Consider the repercussions on your career. You have no one to blame but yourself.  It applies not only to celebs, but to anybody for that matter.  Your judgment thereafter will always be questioned.

Noel Cabangon

I don’t mind celebs having sex videos and finding pleasure in it, as long as they keep it private and protect it from going viral. They also have to be ready for the consequences once it is leaked. It’s really safer not to shoot sex videos in the first place.

Jed Madela

JED MADELA: “A major invasion of privacy.”

Celebs should be careful because people will be always curious to watch these videos—especially those that involve public figures. So if you can’t guarantee its secrecy, you might as well not record it. For me, spreading these videos is a major invasion of privacy. Out of respect for the people in the video, we should not take part in spreading it.

Tetchie Agbayani

It was a private memento that somehow went public. It was an unfortunate incident that could have been avoided.

Kim Atienza

The Bible gives such practical and modern advice. From Luke 8:17, “For there is nothing  hidden that will not be  disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or  brought out into the open.”

Ronnie Quizon

It’s a high-tech diary.  John Lennon and Yoko Ono recorded their daily activities on film and on tape, including bathroom and bedroom activities. So what’s wrong

RONNIE Quizon says the person who spread the video should be punished. ARNOLD ALMACEN

with that? What a person does “after 6” is his own business. Think about that the next time you sit on the toilet. It’s the sleaze bag who uploaded the video on the Net who should be arrested and punished.

Yasmien Kurdi

I don’t blame celebs who are in a relationship who choose to shoot their own intimate videos. But they must be prepared for the consequences. With the advances in technology these days, no one is safe, even in their own homes. I guess it would be wiser to refrain from taking such videos.

Tommy Abuel

TOMMY Abuel says sex video makers need help.

I think there’s something the matter with people who take videos of their sexual activities. I think they need psychiatric help.

Bo Cerrudo

We cannot judge celebs who shoot their own sex videos. It’s a “live-and-let-live” situation. It’s like taking a selfie in the most daring way. But the people who leak these videos must look into their hearts and ask themselves what satisfaction they derive from ruining people’s lives.

Happy first anniversary to the coolest hangout in Mandaluyong, The Crowd Bar (Madison Square, Pioneer Street). Muchísimas gracias to my lovable friend, Richard Villanueva, for an overdose of fun.
