THE ACTRESS says that annulment is a long, tough process.

Actress Iwa Moto, asked if she sees herself marrying her boyfriend Pampi Lacson in the near future, admitted that it’s still unlikely, because her marriage with estranged husband, mixed martial artist Mickey Ablan, is still undergoing annulment.

“Malabo pa… I’ve found out that it’s a long and tough process; we’ve had only two hearings so far,” Iwa told a group of reporters at a recent media gathering for TV5’s “Celebrity Dance Battle,” in which she’s one of the five finalists. “I hope it’s on its way.”

“Mickey and I have our own lives now, and I think we deserve to be happy,” added the 25-year-old Filipino-Japanese celeb, who got married in 2009. The couple eventually parted ways a year after due to “personal problems.”

According to the grapevine, Pampi’s marriage with Jodi Sta. Maria has already been annulled. While the ABS-CBN talent was mum about the issue in interviews, Iwa confirmed it saying, “’Yung sa kanya (Pampi’s annulment), oo.”

For now, Iwa said she and Pampi are happy with what they have. “While all relationships experience problems, it’s all about how you handle it.” Pampi and Iwa have a 9-month old daughter, Hiromi Eve; Pampi likewise has an 8-year-old son with Jodi, Thirdy.

Iwa said it’s great to see that Thirdy gets along well with his baby sister. “Thirdy loves Mimi (Hiromi Eve’s nickname) so much. He looks after her when he’s around; he carries her and makes her laugh,” she said. “Mimi doesn’t forget Thirdy and always gives him a hug.”

“Magkahawig sila—malakas ang dugo nina Pampi,” Iwa jested, adding that all is well between her and Jodi.

Does she think that Pampi is “the one” for her? “ I really hope so,” Iwa said, “because I don’t want my daughter to have a broken family.” She said she’ll travel to Japan soon to apply for Mimi’s Japanese citizenship.

Meanwhile, Iwa said that joining “Celebrity Dance Battle”— which airs its grand finals tomorrow at 9 p.m.— was a good way to lose the baby weight. “I delivered my baby via C-section, so I can’t lift weights or do intense workouts,” Iwa said. “Dancing has been a perfect alternative. My friends said I’ve lost some weight.”

Competing for the title and a cash prize worth P1 million are PBA cager Gary David, Brazilian model Priscilla Meirelles, singer-actress Ciara Sotto and actor Rafa Siguion-Reyna. The dance competition is hosted by Lucy Torres-Gomez and athlete siblings David and Anthony Semerad.
