Mrs. Poon not ready for a baby
MOTHERHOOD can wait for Maricar Reyes.
Actress Maricar Reyes, who married singer Richard Poon in June 2013, says she isn’t ready to be a mom soon.
“Richard and I talk about it. We want to wait for at least one or two years,” says Maricar, a cast member of the ABS-CBN series “Sana Bukas Pa ang Kahapon.”
She wants to focus on the show first before getting pregnant. “It would be better if I’m no longer working. I want motherhood to be my priority.”
Asked to reveal the secret to her happy marriage, Maricar says: “We confront each other on every small thing. Usually, when faced with a problem, I just run away or keep quiet. With him, I learned that you have to discuss and fix even the littlest problems. We argue a lot, but we make sure to patch things up before the day ends.”
Maricar says that unlike in most homes, it is Richard who cooks for the two of them. “He’s trying to teach me to cook,” she adds. “I’m a willing student.”
Sadly, work eats up a lot of her time. “But he understands,” she says. “In fact, the best part of the day is when I go home at 4 a.m. and then eat breakfast with him.”
