Grandmothers with grudges: Annabelle Rama berates Sarah Lahbati’s mom

MANILA, Philippines–After venting out on social media her frustrations over Gutierrez family, Esther Lahbati was told by Annabelle Rama to shut up.
“Tigilan mo na ‘yang arte-arte mo, Esther. Ako ay naiinis na sa ‘yo,” the feisty Rama said in an article published at Philippine Entertainment Portal on Monday.
(Stop acting that way, Esther. You are annoying me.)
“Don’t threaten me, I’m not scared of you,” she said in Filipino. Both are grandmothers of Zion, the son of actors Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati.
Esther decried the supposed foul treatment she got during the posh birthday and christening party of Zion recently.
“Sobra ka na, wala naman kasalanan pamilya namin, tinitira mo kami,” Rama said.
(You have gone overboard, our family is not doing anything wrong, yet you’re attacking us.)
“Masyado ka maarte, ‘Day, wala ka nga ma-appreciate. Wala ka nga donation dun sa party ni Zion,” she also said.
(You’re so sensitive. You can’t appreciate. You did not even donate anything for Zion’s party.)
The talent manager and mother of Gutierrez accused Esther of being “publicity hungry.”
“Ang gusto niya mangyari, hilahin siya ni Sarah sa table niya, iikutin niya lahat mga ninong-ninang, magpapa-picture siya,” Rama said.
(What she wanted to happen was, Sarah will take her around the guests and she will take a picture with them.)
Esther lamented that she felt left out during the party and felt more insulted when she was supposedly asked to take home leftover food.
“Yung pag-alok ko ng pagkain sa kanya, hindi naman masama yun. Kasi, number one, kung ginagawa yun…lahat ng party, ‘pag pumupunta ako, lagi akong may baong tupperware,” she further explained.
(I don’t see anything wrong when I asked her if she wanted food. Number one, I do that. Whenever I attend parties, I bring a Tupperware.)
She said she offered the visitors if they would like to take out the food. She then eventually offered Esther.
“Nakasalubong ko ngayon si Esther, sabi ko, ‘Esther, maraming natirang pagkain na ano sa catering, gusto mo mag-takeout? Masarap yung ano, chicken, ganyan-ganyan. Hindi siya kumibo. Hindi ko alam na masama na pala ang loob niya,” she said.
(I bumped into Esther, I told her, ‘Esther, there are so many leftovers from the catering, do you wanna take out? The chicken is good. She didn’t say anything. I didn’t know she felt bad,” she said.
She said she had no idea that Esther felt bad because after the party she joined them in the Gutierrezes’ house with the rest of the family and even watched their reality show It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez with them.
“So I was shocked that after the party she was in the headlines instead of our grandson. Maybe she is publicity hungry,” Rama said.
She said if Esther will not stop venting out her frustrations to social media, she will say in public what she said to her in a text message.
“Mag-post ka nang mag-post, ‘pag hindi ako makatiis, ‘yung tini-text ko sa ‘yo kahapon, ilalabas ko sa Twitter yun,” Rama said.
(Just keep on posting. If I could no longer stand it, I will post on Twitter the things I texted you yesterday.)
Rama revealed that up to now, Esther is blaming her daughter why she got pregnant with Gutierrez.
“Hanggang ngayon, lagi niyang sinasabi sa anak niya, ‘Bakit ka nabuntis?’ Ako’y naawa kay Sarah. Super-awa ako kay Sarah. Umiyak sa akin sa telepono, tumatawag sa akin alas-onse ng gabi, nagsusumbong sa akin,” Rama said
(Up to now she tells her daughter: Why did you get pregnant? I feel sorry for Sarah. She cries to me over the phone, she calls me at 11 p.m. to confide with me.)
