Cornejo kin defend Deniece

MANILA, Philippines—The saga has another chapter.
After Deniece Cornejo broke her silence a week ago, it’s her family’s turn to face the camera.
“Up to now, I’m still in shock,” Dennis Cornejo, the father, said through phone patch in an interview with a Sunday TV talk show.
The elder Cornejo echoed his daughter’s sentiments that Ferdinand “Vhong” Navarro should man-up in the case.
“To Vhong, he should man up, be a man, tell the truth,” the elder Cornejo said.
Ana Miles, the godmother of the younger Cornejo, said that she is angry at what is happening to her goddaughter.
Special treatment
Attorney Dennis Calleja, the legal counsel of Cornejo and Cedric Lee, said in the same show that Navarro has been receiving special treatment with the way the police has given the actor an elaborate security measure.
“Navarro is surrounded by this police force for his security,” Calleja said. “Instead of being out there, serving the country.”
He added that when it comes to death threats, his clients are more in danger than Navarro.
