/ 11:50 PM January 31, 2014

ALCASID. Pays tribute to show biz widows.

In his Valentine concert series, “Samahang Walang Ka-Valentine,” at Music Museum on Feb. 13, 14 and 15, Ogie Alcasid will sing about enduring love as he pays tribute to the widows of Fernando Poe Jr., Rudy Fernandez and Dolphy.

Ogie will sing his version of “Pangako,” a favorite of Lorna Tolentino and Daboy. “Through the Years” is especially memorable for Zsa Zsa Padilla, because it’s about undying love. The film, “Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw,” is memorable for Susan Roces, because it marked her first team-up with FPJ when she became a freelancer. Its theme song was composed by Ernani Cuenco.

Alcasid will sing the OPM classics of Ryan Cayabyab, George Canseco, Willy Cruz and Rey Valera, as well as his own hits like “Nandito Ako,” “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang?” and “Kailangan Kita.”
