We asked the stars: Why should we celebrate Christmas this year after a string of disasters in the country?

Angeline Quinto

“Hindi natin maiiwasan ang problema at pagsubok. Mahirap ang buhay para sa iba nating kababayan, pero itong Pasko ay simbolo ng pagmamahalan at pag-asa. Ito ’yung araw na ipinanganak si Jesus kaya sana huwag pa rin nating kalimutan na andiyan siya.” Allan Policarpio

Christmas must never be forgotten despite the tragedies. In fact, it is the time we should remember Christ. It is only when we remember him that we are able to genuinely share the gift that we can give freely to everyone. And that’s love. Bayani San Diego Jr.

“What we need is to uplift each other’s spirits. We can do this by highlighting our good qualities and contributions. What we need to realize is that, this Christmas, we should pray as a nation. We need to reflect, especially on our morals. God is trying to send us a message through these natural disasters. Though it’s hard to admit, maybe there’s really something lacking within us as a nation. During this time, I think we all should engage in retrospection, to listen to our inner voice, and to take time out to rest.” Marinel R. Cruz
