Two Filipino filmmakers made the list of fellows in the Asian Film Academy (AFA), which coincides with the Busan festival in October. Chad Angelic Cabigon and Ian Dean Loreños will participate in specialized programs with 22 other fellows from all over the region. Previous years saw acclaimed directors like Taiwan’s Hou Hsiao Hsien and Iran’s Abbas Kiarostami act as AFA deans. AFA is an educational program hosted by the Dongseo University, Busan Film Commission and the Busan festival to “foster future Asian filmmakers and establish a network among them.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
