New twists in ‘P.S. I Love You’ remake

/ 07:44 PM August 28, 2011

Gabby Concepcion is raring to do the TV version of “P.S. I Love You,” his hit movie with ex-wife Sharon Cuneta, on TV5. “My character in the remake wasn’t in the original story,” he explains. “There will be new twists in the plot para mas maka-relate ang audience.”

He feels bad that Sharon won’t be part of the project because she’s with ABS-CBN. “Medyo nagtatampo nga sa akin ang ABS,” says Gabby, “but since I’m under Viva management, I’ll be part of this show, which is their joint venture with TV5.”

Many controversies ago, Sha said if she had her way, she would not want her movie “Dear Heart” to have a remake because no actor can portray the lead roles the way she and Gabby did.

In a special way Gabby will always be attached to Sharon. “I’m glad she lost weight,” he quips. “I want her to be healthy and be free from heart ailments caused by being overweight.”

FEATURED STORIES

What about the heart matters of daughter KC? “I find it funny when people ask me about Piolo and KC,” he says. “Sila ang nasa relasyon. As long as KC is happy, intrigues about them both don’t matter at all.”

‘Third-party proof’

Sunshine Cruz met hubby Cesar Montano’s new leading lady, Sam Pinto, for the first time. “She’s even more gorgeous in person,” she notes. “She’s thin but has the curves in the right places.”

Has she recovered from the rumor linking Buboy to Rachelle Anne Go? “I know Rachelle is a decent girl,” she says. “Biniro ko nga si Buboy na nag toothbrush ba siya sa plane since after dinner daw sila nag-kiss ni Rachelle when the lights went off.”

Buboy and Shine’s marriage has endured many rumors to the point of making it “third-party proof.”

Aljur Abrenica turned down the offer to be part of the Cesar Montano-Philip Salvador movie “Hitman.” Heard that he wasn’t too happy about his role.

After his mediocre performance in the TV remake of “Machete,” the project could boost his acting prowess since he would get enough training from the two multi-awarded actors. Aljur should realize that when looks fade, something should take its place if he wants to stay long in the biz.

Rated ‘B’

We gave “Tween Academy” a “B” rating at the Cinema Evaluation Board screening. The standouts in the movie are Elmo Magalona and Bea Binene. Sad that Elmo’s dad, Kiko, is no longer around to see his son shine. His charms are unmatched by the other young actors in the film.

Bea reminds me of a young Maricel Soriano. It’s the kind of movie that would make you yearn to be in high school again.
