Robinsons Malls celebrates Grandparents Day on Sunday, September 8, with shows to be held simultaneously in Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Magnolia, Robinsons Place Manila, Robinsons Metroeast, Robinsons Starmills, Robinsons Nova Market and Forum Robinsons.

Spirit of ’67 and Pilita Corrales will perform at Robinsons Magnolia. Ramon “RJ” Jacinto and his band will lead the celebration at Robinsons Place Manila while Hajji Alejandro top-bills the program at Robinsons Metroeast. Red Thread, 4 Will Drive and Pig Lipstick will perform at Forum Robinsons, Robinsons Nova Market and Robinsons Starmills Pampanga, respectively.

Multi-Grammy winner Tony Bennett,  whose original version of “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” remains unparalleled and who continues to record hit albums with more current music stars, will perform in a special concert on Sept. 17 at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

Tony has been the recipient of countless awards, including 17 Grammys, throughout a career that spans several decades.

Concert promoters MMI Ovation Productions promise that “Tony Bennett In Concert 2013” will be “a wonderful evening of pop classics, standards and show tunes.” The event is presented in cooperation with RJ 100.3 FM, Jack City, 2nd Avenue, Diva Universal, Jack TV, Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin and BusinessWorld.

‘Wicked’ coming to Manila

The Broadway musical phenomenon “Wicked” is set to cast its spell over Filipino audiences starting Jan. 22, 2014, when it opens for a limited season at the Main Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Winner of 50 major awards, the musical has been Broadway’s top show for an unprecedented nine consecutive years and has thrilled over 37 million audience members worldwide.

“Wicked” is a reimagining of the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” It is the untold tale of two unlikely friends who grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
