After Cannes, Lav Diaz’s “Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan” goes to the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The fest’s website hails “Norte” as a “masterpiece because of its scope and rigor…layered and emotionally powerful (and at times horrifying)…astonishing and deeply mature.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
